Privacy policy
Last updated: 12 September 2026
Doui is a to-do list, routine and notes app that works without an account. This policy explains what the app processes and what it doesn't, in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the GDPR.
Everything stays on your iPhone
Your tasks, routines, notes, lists and any photos you attach to them are stored in a local database, on your device. Doui has no server: nothing is sent, synced or backed up elsewhere by the app. If you delete the app, this data disappears with it, except anything you've exported yourself.
No account
Doui asks for no email address, no password, no username. No profile is created, either on the device or on our end.
Photos
When you attach a photo to a task, note or routine, Doui copies the chosen image into its own space on the device. The app only accesses the photos you select, never your whole photo library.
Microphone and dictation
If you dictate a task, the audio is only used while you're speaking, using iOS's own speech recognition. Doui keeps no audio recording.
Calendar
If you allow it, Doui reads your calendar events to show them alongside your tasks for the day. It doesn't copy them and won't create any without your request.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally by iOS, on your device. They never pass through any server.
The widget
The widget shows your list for the day. It reads the same local data as the app, on your device only.
What the app doesn't do
No ads. No ad tracking. No analytics within the app. No data sold. No artificial intelligence reads your content.
Exporting and deleting your data
You can export your data from the app's settings; the file is saved wherever you choose. To delete everything, simply clear the data in settings or delete the app.
If you contact us
If you email us, we process your address and the content of your message for the sole purpose of replying. These exchanges are kept for 12 months at most.
This site
This site remembers, in your browser, the colour theme you've chosen. It uses Google Analytics in “consent denied” mode: no cookie is set, and only anonymous traffic measurements are sent, without any identifier.
Your rights
- Right of access, rectification and erasure of your data
- Right to restriction and portability
- Right to lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or the authority in your country
Since Doui holds none of your data, these rights are exercised directly on your device. For any question: hello@doui.shams-app.ch.
Data controller
Doui is published by an individual in Switzerland. Contact: hello@doui.shams-app.ch.
